Q: What kind of horses can benefit from Massage Therapy? A: Virtually all horses can benefit from Massage Therapy; horses with a change in behavior (not picking up leads, stiffness, bucking, girthing problems), laminitic or navicular horses, horses on stall rest (increases circulation) and any working horse. Please note that Veterninary care will always superceed and Equine Healing Hands will not work on any horse that a Vet has advised against this supplemental treatment.
Q: What can I expect during a massage? A: First, we will discuss the horse's history and find a comfortable, safe place for both the horse and the therapist. Please feel free to ask any question and be as active in "feeling" for yourself. During the massage, you may notice your horse yawning, wiggling their lip, getting a soft eye, licking, chewing, drooling or even lift a leg to soften the muscle. These are all great signs of "I like that!" The therpist will continue to watch the horse's reaction to the massage (good or bad). Safety will always come first.
